Issue with Client Local -Invalid User Id Password
I have been facing an issue with my Siebel dedicated Local
client for last few days. I have been trying all the options. I was connected
few times initially for few times and then it was not at all connected. I have
been searching the blogs and fixing one by one issue. But, still I get the same
issue. Finally I was able to make it work with multiple fixes. I wanted to put
all of them in one place so that, you can benefit out of it.
Diccache.dat issue:
While checking the environmental logs, initially I have
found the issue with dicache.dat file. After checking the google, I have
deleted the file from Client/BIN folder and added the below parameter under the
[ServerDataSrc] section in client CFG. If this parameter is set to TRUE, Client
will download the diccache.dat file from Siebel server and copies in Client\BIN
folder. If this parameter is set to FALSE, it won’t download the file from
server.
[ServerDataSrc]
UseDictionaryInTransactionLogging = FALSE
Data source issue:
Initially LOGs were indicating that the data source name was
invalid OR database already in use. But, after searching a lot, found the
solution for the issue.
Removed the Server Name, Start Line, and Database name for SEAW Local Db default instance.
Internet Explorer:
After fixing the user id and password issue, I
was able to move ahead and Internet Explorer was opening with Page cannot be
displayed error. I was using a 64 Bit Windows machine. And I was referring to
IE in another Program Files. After I changed it to correct IE path, I was able
to open HI and Open UI Local Client.[Update] LAN-Wifi Connections
Another issues faced recently with Siebel Thick Client. When accessed the Siebel Thick client, Laptop was connected to LAN and Wi-fi is also ON. After switching off the Wifi/LAN thick client started working.
